EMS was established in 2002 by Steve Roberts. We are based at the historic President Buildings in Sheffield. Our senior staff have years of experience in environmental services to industry. We deliver results to enable you to reach your environmental goals.
We work in partnership with our clients to ensure that regulations and environmental goals are met. We listen, audit and diagnose client needs to then put strategic solutions in place, whether they are Environmental Monitoring or Management Solutions.
Our Management Team
Steve Roberts BSc CEng MICE MCIWEM
Founder - Steve has over 30 years of experience in environmental monitoring and set up EMS because he wanted to lead the way in providing total environmental solutions.
Peter Skipworth BEng (Hons) PhD MIoD
Managing Director - Peter joined the company in 2009 alongside investor South Yorkshire Investment Fund. He is charged with developing new client-value propositions and overseeing the growth of the company based on over 20 years experience in the water industry.
Kieran Williams BSc (Hons) MSc MPhil CSci CEnv MCIWEM C.WEM
Development Manager - Kieran has over fifteen years experience in the water industry and academia. Kieran brings to EMS a wealth of skills and practical knowledge. Kieran is driving forward the range of technical and flexible solutions to support a growing number of clients with unique and challenging industrial and natural monitoring needs.
Mike Brownhill
Technical Manager - Mike is a software and instrumentation engineer with experience in environmental monitoring equipment, and its integration with Data Acquisition Systems. he has held positions at Unidata and as a director of Dataview Systems prior to Joining EMS. Mike is responsible for the technical design of bespoke solutions.
Gary Thursfield
Operations Manager - Gary is a field electronics engineer having worked in environmental monitoring for over 20 years. Gary is a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner and is responsible for project delivery.
Rebecca Chapman BSc (Hons)
Head of Environmental Management - Rebecca has been working in the industry for over 10 years and has been at EMS since it was established. She has worked with a multitude of industry types which gives her a wealth of practical and commercial knowledge as well as her strength in training.
Matthew Brownhill
Internal Sales and Services Manager - Matthew has a well established and highly practical skills base in all aspects of water monitoring and the products that drive it.
