Environmental Reviews & ISO14001 Gap Analysis with EMS Ltd
DHL Aviation (UK) Ltd and DHL Air Ltd, the parcel processing and airline fleet divisions of DHL, a multinational delivery company, contracted Environmental Monitoring Solutions Ltd to conduct an Environmental Review and ISO14001 Gap Analysis of the DHL facility at East Midlands Airport, UK.
The purpose of the review was to identify potential non-conformity with environmental legislation and suggest ways of maintaining conformity with said legislation. The gap analysis was used to identify areas of the site environmental management system that did not meet the requirements of the international guidance standard ISO14001 and suggest ways of ensuring compliance with said standard pending a site audit.
Environmental Monitoring Solutions Ltd, a Sheffield based Environmental Consultancy & Training Centre, conducted a full site inspection of the DHL facility and critical review of the site environmental management systems in order to identify areas of non-compliance with applicable legal requirements and failings of the site environmental management system to meet the requirements of the ISO14001 quality standard.
The review and gap analysis results were used to identify positive and negative aspects of site environmental management and to suggest areas for improvement by recommending measures to counter the negative aspects identified on site and build on the positives.
