Duty of Care Audits:
The Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991 (amended '96 & '02) places legal requirements on
all persons and companies who deal with controlled waste. Duty of Care applies to anyone who produces,
receives, holds, carries, treats, or disposes of controlled waste, or as a broker, has control of such
waste.

Packaging Waste and WEEE Compliance
EMS are able to advise and review current working practices to determine if companies are complying with the Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations 1997 (Amended 2003) and the forthcoming WEEE Directive.

Asbestos Surveys:
The control of Asbestos at Work Regulations (CAW) came
into force in November 2002 (Amended 2004). These
Regulations place certain legal responsibility upon both
employers and landlords to manage
asbestos in non-domestic premises.
