Trade Effluent Monitoring Installation

Trade Effluent Monitoring

EMS provides specification, installation, commissioning and long-term contracted monitoring and maintenance services for a long list of household names including Heinz, Warburtons, Cooplands Bakeries, Greencore Foods, Bostik, Cott Beverages, Pukka Pies and Pork Farms. We also supply trade effluent monitoring equipment for sale and hire.

Weir

Flow and Load Survey (Industrial)

EMS carries out short term flow and load surveys within industrial facilities. Surveys may be driven by a requirement to identify process weaknesses and improve them, or may be as part of the requirement to meet consents. They can of course be driven simply by a need to understand the flow on site up front of development work. Improving processes and effluent quality, or reducing the throughput of water, can often reduce companies’ water supply and Mogden bills making a clear business case for action.

River Gauging

Flow Survey (Natural / Urban)

EMS carries out flow gauging in rivers, streams and manmade channels culverts and other constructed channels. Different equipment is appropriate to different situations, from small area velocity probes to pulse-Doppler instruments capable of measuring flow fields accurately up to 7 metres deep. Clients are often consultants or statutory authorities, with the results contributing to hydrological studies. Increasingly, flow survey requirements are for hydro-electricity schemes.

Water Quality Spot Monitoring

Water Quality (Natural / Urban)

Surveys or medium term deployments, for example for bathing water or CSO discharge monitoring, have requirements for the collection of water quality data. EMS have multi-parameter instrumentation that can be deployed to collect continuous data a combination of temperature, pressure, pH, turbidity, conductivity, DO (dissolved oxygen), ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential), ammonium, chloride, nitrate. This can also be used with alarming and portal services to view data and trigger, for example, automatic sampling.

Remote Monitoring Solar Powered Outstation

Remote Monitoring

EMS’s remote monitoring capabilities allow water quality, flow or rain gauge data to be pushed via GPRS onto the web. This is in medium term deployments where clients wish to view the data on a regular basis or to review events. The same facility allows the triggering of event monitoring or automatic sampling.

Large Scale Flow MeasurementCooling Tower

EMS' specialist engineers provide short and long term large scale flow measurement surveys using the Isco Hot Tap. Accurate flow measurement is often very challenging with conventional measurment techniques not providing reliable, repeatable results. The Hot Tap uses Doppler technology to generate a highly accurate velocity field and flow profile. This data can then be used to optimise system performance providing significant energy and operational savings.
