About the Role
We’re looking for a dynamic Technology Adoption Lead with experience delivering organisational change around new or emerging technology products. You’ll be at the forefront of rolling out CENTAUR® – EMS’s innovative, in-house smart sewer network technology – into live operations within a UK Water and Sewerage Company.
CENTAUR® uses real-time data to optimise water and wastewater networks and reduce flooding risk. This is more than a technical delivery role — you’ll ensure the solution is adopted smoothly and effectively across all levels of the client’s organisation, acting as the key bridge between EMS’s technical teams and a wide range of stakeholders.
The role requires regular on-site client engagement, but you can be home-based anywhere in the UK, our head office is in Sheffield.
What You’ll Do
Change Management
- Develop and deliver a tailored change management strategy for CENTAUR®
- Conduct impact assessments and readiness planning
- Monitor adoption progress and adjust plans based on feedback and outcomes
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trust with technical and non-technical client stakeholders
- Run workshops, briefings, and communications to foster buy-in
- Manage resistance and maintain clear, consistent messaging
Communication & Training
- Collaborate on internal comms, FAQs, and user training materials
- Oversee training and readiness across all affected departments
- Ensure strong engagement before, during, and after go-live
Implementation Support
- Be a visible champion of change during rollout
- Provide hands-on support during adoption and early live operation
- Lead post-rollout reviews and embed lessons learned
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify risks to success and stakeholder alignment
- Collaborate with project and technical leads to resolve issues proactively
What You’ll Bring
Experience & Background
- Proven success in managing organisational change for tech products
- Strong track record in stakeholder engagement, ideally in regulated or operational environments
- Experience working closely with technical teams to implement innovation
- Background in sectors such as utilities, infrastructure, or technology
Skills & Attributes
- Confident communicator across all levels
- Empathetic and strategic relationship-builder
- Skilled in planning and coordination (Agile or PRINCE2 experience desirable)
- Comfortable operating in both digital and operational environments
- Willingness to travel regularly within the UK for client site visits
What We Offer
As an experienced professional, you’ll join a team that values your expertise and offers the autonomy, support, and collaboration needed to make a lasting impact. We recognise the importance of ongoing development at every stage of your career and provide opportunities to shape strategic direction, mentor others, or deepen your technical leadership.
- Competitive salary
- 22 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
- Company pension scheme
- Employee perks scheme
- Companywide social events
- Ongoing career development and progression (including paid professional memberships)
