Privacy Policy

This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use and protect your personal data as the Data Controller.

Who we are

Cura Terrae is a group of industry-leading environmental companies united in their mission to help take care of The Earth.  The group comprises of Ecus, Environmental Monitoring Solutions (EMS), Envirocare Technical Consultancy and Enviro Technology Services (ET).

Your Data

We will collect and process your personal data providing you with communications related to project work (as a previous or current customer of EMS). Or, if you are a prospective customer, we require this data to inform you on EMS’ services which we feel are relevant to you in your role.

We collect first name, last name, job role, business email address, business postal address, business phone number (mobile/landline) for this purpose.

We do not perform automated decision-making for the purpose of profiling. All decisions regarding data collection, processing, storage and uses are made by the Data Controller at EMS.

Should you wish to receive details from where the personal data we hold about you originates, you may contact the Data Protection Officer.

Third Parties

We will share your information with third parties (such as other members of our group) to complete any necessary work. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interest to provide our services and/or in order to perform our contract with you.

We may also share your data with other members of our group, so that they may contact you to tell you about relevant products, services and offers.  Where we share such data, we do so on the basis of the legitimate interests of ourselves and the other members of our group to provide you with such information. If we require to transfer personal data outside of the EU, we will inform you before the transfer takes place.

Marketing

We may use your personal information to tell you about relevant products, services and offers. This is what we mean when we are referring to ‘Marketing’. We make a judgement to form a view on what we think you may need or want or that maybe of interest to you. This is how we decide which products, services and offers may be relevant to you.


We will only use your personal information to send you marketing messages if, we either have your consent or a ‘legitimate interest’. That is when we have a business or commercial reason to use your information. It must not go against what is right and best for you and will always remain within the confines of current Data Protection law. We shall also provide you with a means to opt-out from receiving such Marketing.

Data Storage

We will store your personal data indefinitely on our secure CRM system as we may need to contact you in the future. This does not affect your individual rights as a data subject.

We have several measures in place to ensure all data is secure.

Data Breach

In the event of any data breach, including the hack, loss, destruction, alteration or unauthorised disclosure of personal data, we will inform the affected individuals within 72 hours of us first becoming aware of the data breach.

Our website contains links to other websites. This privacy statement only applies to EMS, if you would like to find out more information on how other website providers will use information you should check the privacy notice on that website.

Cookies

The only cookies in use on our site are for Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so that they can improve it.

Right to Access or Change Your Information

Data subjects have the right to access and obtain a copy of your personal data held and processed by EMS on request. You also have the right to request EMS to correct any inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data.

Right to Erasure

You have the right to request for EMS to erase your data from our systems and records. This does not apply to purposes necessary for the performance of a contract, or for purposes which are covered by legal obligations.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We regularly review this privacy policy and we will post the details of any changes below. This policy was last reviewed on the 1st of December 2022.

Complaints

You have the right to make a complaint by contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). Please refer to the ICO’s procedures via the website at www.ico.org.uk.

EMS is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Data Controller for the processing of Personal Data (Z8269042).
