The Challenges
Although both sites have had no historical issues with environmental performance, CSM Bradford and Wirral were looking to improve overall compliance with environmental legislation as well as comply with strict customer requirements.
Both organisations supply product to many different retailers, so it is imperative that the sites identify not only the various environmental legal requirements, but also the requirements of the different customers in regard to environmental performance.
After identifying areas on both sites that required more controls to improve environmental performance, the Bradford and Wirral sites recognised the need for external expertise.
The Solution
EMS Ltd assigned a team including a Senior Environmental Consultant and Environmental Consultant in order to provide on-going advice and professional support.
Through the support of EMS Ltd, the Wirral site are in the process of obtaining an Environmental Permit, Bradford are in the process of obtaining a Trade Effluent Discharge Consent and both sites are implementing processes, procedures and controls to achieve M&S Plan A 2025 Silver by the end of 2019.
